What Is The Best Termination?

Termination describes the connector on the end of the cable by which you connect the cable to your speakers and amplifier. We offer Spade, Banana and Nude termination. The question is, what will present the best sonic result in a said system?

The best termination is NO termination, being the Nude choice of termination. We twist the wires together and bathe this in silver solder, adding a length of heat shrink for added strength. This choice is seen in the photo below.

Connecting a cable made with Nude termination is easy! Most amplifiers and speakers come with a five way binding post, where you can unscrew it to reveal a hole in the binding post. Simply insert the Nude wire of the speaker cable into this hole and tighten down as seen in the photo below.

How Nude termination attaches to your components.

Spade or Banana termination requires the signal to pass through a chunky piece of metal, distorting the signal. Nude termination does not require this; the less the signal has to pass through, the better the sound will be, retaining more of the original signal.

Since we are well aware of this fact, we recommend and offer Nude termination versus Spade or Banana. The choice is up to you depending on your convenience.
